Why is it so hard to date in CO?

Ok, so I live in CO's second largest city and have found it impossible to date here? Sadly, I have heard firsthand from a CO native that if you are a transplant that you will NEVER be accepted by CO locals. I naturally assume that this would make it hard to date and/or meet new people.
