What will it take for both parties to wake up to the real deal, Ron Paul?

mr. paul is a libertarian in philosophy and a republican by name. while i love his opinions and beliefs i feel as though many republicans would not agree. the idea that small govt. is best is a shared notion among all conservatives unfortunately for mr. paul many republicans have a very defined ideology that conflicts with his "hands off" approach. abortion drugs gay rights etc. i will vote for him as a write in candidate if possible. my conscience wont let me do otherwise. @ susan the founding fathers were "liberal" in the context of freedom. they were not liberal as defined today. they were not only afraid of the wealthy but more importantly of an oppressive huge central govt. thats why they left england in the first place. jeez.
