Moving to Ft Worth, TX!!!!?

Ive done technical research as far as schools, housing, and jobs. All is well from what I see. But Id like firsthand opinions from ppl who live or have visited Ft Worth, TX (not far from Dallas) on the whole "southern living" experience. I am currently living in Chicago and am sick of the "city life". Is Texas a pretty decent place to raise a family??
