Info/issues with foot tattoos?

I want to get a tattoo on the side of my foot along the arch. It would be text of about 5 words and a small calla lily above. I have heard that foot tattoos fade and need a lot of touch up. Can anyone give me firsthand info on this? I already looked online but I want to hear personal experience with foot tattoos. Thanks!
